Wrapping our arms around our community so everyone can be transformed through God's Love

Meet the pastor:
Picture
I am Gunsoo Jung who is serving at Blissfield First United Methodist Church since July 1, 2019. I graduated from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington D.C.
My mission statement is to be part of God’s mission in what He is doing in this world. As His servant, the purpose of my ministry is to make Disciples of Christ of those who don’t believe or know Jesus, and those who don’t have affirmation in their salvation. To make his disciples to save their souls and body from their sin, to heal and to restore sick people in our community in this world.
Jesus’ public ministry was to save the sinners, to heal sick people for the community of God’s kingdom.  My ministry is also to save people who don’t believe in Jesus Christ, so that through the Gospel their lives and lifestyle are to be transformed by the Holy Spirit. Our broken homes, families, and community are to be healed and restored with God’s words regardless their ethnicity, gender, sexual identity, etc.
My action plan for my mission statement is to help them to be Jesus’ disciples in our church and community. I want to educate them for the growth of their spiritual life through preaching and Bible studies, and to live a sanctified life like our Lord according to His directions by praying and reading the Bible every day. I want them to be happy and joyful by encountering our Savior, Jesus Christ, in any circumstance.

My ministry will go with our lay people and our community to fulfill God’s will in our community, and to be more involved positively in community activities for God’s kingdom and mission through worship, education, fellowship, service, and outreach.

God works with us until now since the creation of the earth. Likewise, I will work with my church members for the Kingdom of God in this church and community. I also encourage church members to edify and establish their faith. With the help of the Holy Spirit, I hope to establish our mission as reaching out in the community to all kinds of people, preferably Korean, through the Gospel and God’s Word.

I believe that God is so good all the time for me, our church, our community and the world. He is a God who prepares what we need and hope.

Peace be with us!

Pastor Gunsoo Jung
